Notice Regarding Unauthorized Access to Reservation Management System at Best Western Plus Fukuoka Tenjin-Minami
Polaris Holdings announced today that it has identified unauthorized access to an account within the hotel reservation management system at Best Western Plus Fukuoka Tenjin-Minami (the “Hotel”) operated by the Company.
As a result of this unauthorized access, certain customers who had made reservations at the Hotel may have received phishing messages from external parties directing them to fraudulent websites. The Company has taken immediate measures to secure the affected system and is cooperating with relevant authorities to prevent any recurrence.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this incident may have caused to our valued customers and stakeholders.
The facts confirmed through our investigation are as follows.
1. Background of the Incident
It was confirmed that, between January 30 and February 20, 2026, certain customers who made reservations at the Hotel via Rakuten Travel, HIS and Jalan received phishing messages through the messaging application “WhatsApp” that directed them to fraudulent websites.
Upon discovery of the incident, we immediately changed the passwords for the Hotel’s administrative system and deleted accounts that may have been used for unauthorized access. We have since continued our investigation into the details and circumstances of the incident.
2. Investigation Results
The investigation has confirmed the following:
(1) Cause of the Incident
A review of login records for the reservation management system used by the Hotel revealed multiple instances of unauthorized access.
(2) Customers Whose Personal Information May Have Been Affected
Customers who made reservations at Best Western Plus Fukuoka Tenjin-Minami prior to February 20, 2026, through our official website or online reservation platforms.
(3) Information Potentially Affected
・Name
・Email address
・Reservation information (such as scheduled stay dates)
No payment-related information, including credit card numbers, was included.
(4) Secondary Damage
As of this time, no secondary damage has been confirmed.
3. Request to Customers
Please note that the Company does not contact customers regarding reservations via social media or messaging applications such as WhatsApp. If you receive any suspicious message, please refrain from accessing any URL contained within the message.
